Public Tour - El Dorado Hills Water Treatment Plant

- Introduction: Explore EID's water treatment process, tracing the journey of your water from the High Sierra to local reservoirs like Jenkinson and Folsom lakes. Discover how it reaches one of EID's five treatment plants, where your water is expertly treated and sent straight to your tap.
With the popularity of this year's water treatment plant tour, the District has added an additional date. The tour has been offered to those that were on the waiting list first. Space is very limited, reservations will be taken as received. Reservations must be received by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7.
Join us for a public tour of the El Dorado Hills Water Treatment. Learn about the complexities of the water delivery and treatment system, and how EID treats and distributes water throughout its expansive 220-square-mile service area. This is a unique opportunity to gain insights into the intricate processes that ensures safe drinking water for our customers and community. Additionally, you’ll understand the critical importance of reinvesting in these essential systems to maintain their efficiency and reliability.
- Check-in is at 4:45 p.m., the tour begins at 5:00 p.m.
- Reserve your attendance by emailing Communications@EID.org by 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 7.
The tour is outdoors, attendees should wear weather-appropriate clothing. Tours involve walking on varied hilly terrain that includes metal grated stairs; closed-toe shoes are required.
All participants must sign an EID liability waiver.
Please note that children under 12 are not permitted for safety reasons.
