El Dorado Irrigation District has identified water service lines as a common point of failure in its water infrastructure network. To remedy this issue, staff have worked to identify areas of concentrated failure and addressed those areas as the first priority in its water service replacement program.

District staff notifies customers when we will be in your neighborhood with road signs, mailer, or if you have a Home Owners Association (HOA) notification are through the HOA.

How do you access the water lines? Staff access the water mains and services through excavation using backhoes and hydro-excavation equipment.

How long will construction be in my neighborhood? The District expects the current project in Stonegate Village to be completed Summer 2023.

Will the construction activity restrict access to my home? No. District staff will ensure you always have access to your home. If there is a conflict with access like a car parked over a meter box, you will be notified. We will never restrict or block access for residents, fire, police or EMS.

Do you shut off my water service, and for how long? In order to replace the water services, the District must temporarily interrupt your water service. You will be notified in advance of this service interruption and it will last for no longer than one business day. Interruptions usually only last a couple of hours.
