The Safe Drinking Water Act requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) establish requirements for public water systems to monitor for priority unregulated contaminants every five years. Unregulated contaminants are those that do not yet have a federal drinking water standard set. The purpose of monitoring for these contaminants is to help the EPA decide whether the contaminants should have a drinking water standard in the future based upon nationwide data.

The EPA has recently issued an updated list of unregulated contaminants to be monitored with the fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5) which began in 2023 and includes 29 per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and lithium.

Final monitoring data:  2023-2024 UCMR-5

Below is the notice that was sent to customers and the monitoring results.
