Equestrian Staging Area Closed as PG&E Continues Work at Sly Park Recreation Area
PG&E continues to trim and fall trees at Sly Park Recreation Area to limit damage to powerlines in advance of the winter storms, and to aid in the prevention of fire. The equestrian staging area is closed as it is being used as a staging area for contractors. Please use caution in the area

2019 Annual Day Use Permit Applications Are Available Now!
EID's recreation division announces that 2019 annual day use permit applications are available. Permits make a great holiday gift and are valid for all EID-managed day use areas which include three lakes: Jenkinson, Caples, and Sliver.

PG&E Working to Prevent Powerline Damage During Storm Events at Sly Park Recreation Area
PG&E has begun tree trimming and falling work at Sly Park Recreation Area to prevent damage to powerlines in advance of the winter storm season.

Due to High Fire Danger - No Wood or Charcoal Fires at EID's Hwy. 88 Day-Use Facilities
Due to high fire danger, no wood or charcoal fires are allowed at EID's day-use facilities off Hwy. 88. This includes Caples and Silver lake boat launches, Sandy and Ferguson Point. Propane camp stoves for cooking are okay.

EID Urges Caution Around Streams and Rivers
EID urges caution when approaching local area streams and rivers. As the weather temperatures raise, snow in higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada are beginning to melt causing higher and more random water flow patterns. The snowmelt also keeps water at dangerously cold temperatures.

Fish Stocking to Increase at Jenkinson Lake
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is scheduled to stock fish in Jenkinson Lake Sly Park Recreation Area (SPRA) the week of February 4, 2018. And more good news – extra fish are going to be stocked in Jenkinson Lake over the next two years.

Missing Man Located in EID's Untreated Raw Water Conduit in Pollock Pines
EID received notice from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office on January 22 that a man had entered into EID’s Camino Conduit pipe that carries raw water from Jenkinson Lake to EID’s water treatment plant 1.5 miles away. EID is asking our customers to continue conservation until 5 p.m. today.

Work to Protect Upper Watershed Water Supplies to Begin
The Eldorado National Forest will burn 169 acres approximately four miles northwest of Kirkwood next week, if weather conditions allow, as part of a multi-year ecological restoration project in partnership with EID, Sierra Nevada Conservancy SNC, and the USFS.
