The water level at Jenkinson Lake is projected to be 65% of capacity by Sunday, September 11. At this level, motorized boat speeds on the lake will be reduced to 15 MPH for safety. Also, with low water levels, fewer boats will be allowed on the lake.

Jenkinson Lake water level is currently at 66%. The main boat launch is closed to trailed boats. It remains accessible for smaller vessels such as kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards that can be walked down to the water to be launched.

Jenkinson Lake levels are currently at 73%. The main boat launch is limited to the two center lanes for boats that are on trailers. The two outside lanes are for those with non-motorized boats/boards.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife offers two free fishing days per year. For 2022, they are July 2 and September 3.

Silver Lake West Campground is now open! As a reminder camping is first come first served. There is no potable water service at this time, camping is at discounted rate.

Sly Park Recreation Area is happy to announce that we were able to reopen today, January 10! The park had to close on December 27 as we received heavy snowfall that knocked out power lines and downed trees creating hazardous conditions.

The Upper Main Ditch Piping Project’s full road closures are estimated to be completed by early December. Single lane closures with traffic control will then be in place at various locations along Blair Road and are estimated through late December while construction crews complete work.

Sly Park Recreation Area staff is preparing the park for winter. Water services have been shutoff, be prepared by bringing your own water supply. The back of the park is closed to vehicle traffic past Stonebraker boat launch. Reduced camping fees, and winter gate hours are in effect.

Sly Park's main boat launch parking area is being used as a PG&E helicopter staging area as they continue work to restore power to areas affected by the Caldor Fire. The hiking and biking area that runs through that area has been rerouted. The equestrian trail that is below the dam remains closed.
